Are you going to buy the Nintendo Switch OLED – Destructoid

It’s time to ring the bell for our Switch OLED poll

Surprise! This is a Switch OLED launch poll. Since it is due in less than a week, I thought it was high time to see what people thought.

So here is my first answer: yes.

Of course yes ! This is my career, and getting new material is key to being able to cover things for Destructoid.

Here’s my second answer: Even if it wasn’t my career, I would still buy the OLED Switch.

The Switch has been a huge hit in my house, as my wife and I play it regularly, and my daughter is interested in it. We have docks on every floor of our house and take advantage of portable mode in the house and in bed for some downtime. While I would say I split my time between the PS5 (exclusives), Xbox Series X (cross-platform), and the Switch (mostly exclusives), having my family down with the Switch makes that decision easier.

The revised dock (which you can purchase separately) should hopefully improve download speed issues (beyond the existing third-party solution), and the new screen will be a godsend on your future travels, as well as at home in convenient locations. I am very interested in “improved audio” and better support.

Of course, “no” is a valid answer for this Switch OLED launch poll for a number of reasons. I mean, maybe you don’t want a Switch in the first place. And upgrades really aren’t warranted if you don’t use the Switch a lot (it’s not like it’s a Pro model). Or maybe you just couldn’t get one due to the chip shortage and Nintendo not doing anything about scalping.
