The so-called "holographic wills" were discovered earlier this month by Sabrina Owens, personal representative of the Aretha Franklin estate. They contained in them what the area called "potential areas of protest".
The lawyers for Franklin's four sons were unable to solve the problem and are therefore referred to a court to determine if the wills are admissible for an audit.
Two of Franklin's sons oppose the admission of wills. The documents are dated June 21, 2010; October 20, 2010 and March 31, 2014, according to a file filed by the court on this subject.
CNN reviewed the documents. The will dated June 2010 refers to Franklin's blood pressure and a mass on his pancreas.
The singer died of pancreatic cancer on August 16, 2018.
"As this new development is also a family affair, [Owens] remains neutral and wants all parties involved to make wise choices on behalf of their mother, her rich heritage, the family and estate Aretha Franklin, "reads the statement.
According to the hearing, a hearing is scheduled for Thursday at 10 am in Oakland County, Michigan.
