9-Year-Old Girl Beaten to Death in Exorcism | the Chronicle

An unusual and aberrant episode took place in Sri Lanka, South Asia. A mother took her daughter to be exorcised, because she believed she was possessed by an evil spirit, and the youngest lost her life.

Following the spread of this shocking story, the woman must now appear in court. The girl was beaten with a cane by the pastor who was performing the ritual, and due to the severe pain she had to be admitted to Delgoda Hospital, where she died.

During the ceremony, the “man of faith” he put oil on the girl and repeatedly beat her with a cane, police said.
