Hunting for “chetos”: TikTok’s dangerous viral challenge that put police on alert | the Chronicle

A dangerous viral challenge has panicked authorities in Madrid, Spain, after several casseroles were recorded. “The chic hunt”, a dangerous challenge that influencers upload to their social networks, especially TikTok and Instagram. In Argentina, its translation could be hunt for “chetos”.

The challenge is to say “I know you” a person of good economic fortune, then slap, punch, push and grab his hair. Influencers usually hang out rich neighborhoods of Madrid and there they do their “heavy joke”.

One of the neighborhoods with the most victims of this type of incident is Chamartín, the most expensive neighborhood in Madrid, where the famous Real Madrid football club is located.

A few days ago, the Spanish national police identified one of the tiktokers, a girl under 14, who performs this type of viral challenge. In one of the videos the teenager uploaded, she says:

“I swear no”, replied the woman. There the girl begins to count to three, at which point the victim rreceived a slap, a hair pullout and several kicks. After having carried out her criminal prank, the young girl escapes at full speed.

After the persecution that begins the victim, the teenager crosses the street and there she stops her way, insults. “It didn’t even touch me”, boasts the assailant in the video, while specifying that it was “The sixth fight in a day”.

In the meantime, the police have assured thatand the teenager was not arrested, but it is available for the Public prosecutor’s office for minors, who can sue you for being over 13 years old.

“She comes from another neighborhood, the only goal of this group to move to this neighborhood was to hit those she considered ‘chic’ and record it and upload it to the networks.”, said official sources.

Meanwhile, authorities have detected four other cases in recent weeks. “They act mainly around the Bernabéu and the challenge was to accumulate as many attacks as possible”, they assured. Although there are still no complaints about these events in Madrid, the police are investigating ex officio.

On the other hand, in Seville, a mother reported that her son was beaten as he left school for a similar case of defiance “Chic hunting”.
