Kamala harris, Vice President of the United States, gave a press conference before leaving for her home country. From the Juárez neighborhood in Mexico City, the official assured that the main objective of his trip is to know the causes that provoke the migration, then find ways to resolve this phenomenon.

“We must have the capacity to deal with root causes of why people leave their country, we have to understand that it is a priority for us to worry about what is happening at our border, so this must also be a priority for us to know why people leave their country”.

The reality is that almost all people when they leave don’t want to leave and almost all want to come back, this is the spirit in which we approach these questions. On the other hand, I think if you want to fix a problem, you have to go where the problem exists, ”said the US vice president.

On top of that, he pointed out that if the problem is only seen by reaction, it is a biased view, so there is a need to address what is happening in the places people are leaving. “Raia’s causes are based on the issues, challenges and challenges that people face in Guatemala.”

“We have a wide variety of people, no matter who voted in these last election, in the mail it doesn’t say Republican and Democrat there. We will continue to push to see what we can do to stop these efforts to suppress the vote and violate Americans’ right to vote. “

Another problem highlighted by the official is the labor reform implemented under the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador. In this regard, he indicated that the United States will invest $ 130 million in additional technical assistance and cooperation over the next three years to collaborate with Mexico.
