Alberto Fernández conceived a diplomatic movement to obtain the freedom of the main opponents of the Sandinista regime of Ortega

In the greatest secrecy, Alberto Fernández plans to lead a diplomatic movement today to demand that the dictatorship led by Daniel Ortega and his wife Rosario Murillo order the immediate release of four political prisoners who were captured by the Sandinista regime to avoid their participation in the next elections and thus preserve their hegemonic power until the end of 2027.

From this perspective, influential Senator Bob Menéndez – head of the US Upper House Foreign Relations Committee – said in the last few hours that Daniel Ortega makes it clear that he aspires to be the Kim Jong-un of the Western Hemisphere. We cannot accept the consolidation of the third dictatorship in the region (refers to Cuba and Venezuela). He and his henchmen must face the consequences of their brutal attack on democracy and the laws of Nicaragua ”.

And in the same diplomatic pressure line, Pedro Sánchez approved yesterday, at the end of his tour of Latin America, a public document shared by Costa Rica, Belize, Guatemala, Panama and the Dominican Republic. This multilateral position – led by the Spanish Prime Minister – expresses “Your deep concern at the recent measures taken by the Nicaraguan government against key opposition leaders in this country, which threaten the free exercise of democracy. We demand their immediate release and the restoration of their political rights ”.

Alberto Fernández also considers that it is time to put pressure on the Sandinista dictatorship to obtain the freedom of its political prisoners. and guarantee free and transparent elections to elect the new Nicaraguan authorities. Felipe Solá was one of the architects of the multilateral movement to obtain the freedom of Cristina Chamorro, Juan Sebastián Chamorro, Maradiaga and Cruz. The chancellor is a friend of Cruz, and is concerned about his political situation – like that of other presidential candidates – given the arbitrary detention ordered by Ortega and his wife Murillo.

The United States Treasury Department imposed economic sanctions on key leaders of the Sandinista dictatorship in response to the arrest of the four political leaders. Among those sanctioned are Camila Ortega Murillo, daughter of Daniel Ortega, and his wife and vice-president Rosario Murillo.

Alberto Fernández does not agree with the sanctions and economic blockades ordered by the United States. This is what he said about Venezuela and Cuba, and he therefore ratified it when he learned that these coercive measures were dictated against the Nicaraguan nomenclature.
