United States First Lady Jill Biden and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton visited a school in Cornwall on Friday, county where the G7 summit between world leaders is currently taking place.
At school, both sitting with children in a classroom as they learn about environmental issues and they observed how the little ones fed the class rabbit.
“These kids are very smart.”Biden said, as he admired her handwriting and was shown a book about young Swedish activist Greta Thunberg.
Then the First Lady and the Duchess participated in a conference with a group of experts on childhood.
“I wanted to personally thank and welcome Dr Biden, it’s a great honor”Kate said when opening a discussion on early childhood education, one of the main thrusts of her charitable work.
Kate, who has three children with Prince William, has also been consulted by his new niece, Prince Harry’s daughter, who was born last week in the United States, whom he hopes to meet soon.
Biden’s school tour follows that of former American first ladies Melania Trump and Michele Obama on their trips to the UK, although they did not have the company of a royalty.
The British monarchy plays a leading role in the G7, because Carlos and William will also host an event between business leaders and world leaders to discuss how the private sector can work with governments to tackle climate change..
Queen Elizabeth, who will also attend a rally with Kate after the G7 reception, is expected to meet with the Bidens to have tea at Windsor Castle on the Sunday after the summit.
“Joe and I are looking forward to meeting the Queen.”the first lady said Thursday. “It is an exciting part of the visit for us,” he added.
