In less than a month, this is the second death of this type to occur in the Atlantic capital. This happened again at the Daikiri Motel, located in the center of Barranquilla on Tuesday, June 22.

The bodies found at the motel were those of a man identified as Richard John Benítez Camacho, 35, and an unidentified woman, aged around 25 to 30, according to the Barranquilla Metropolitan Police report.

As the El Heraldo de Barranquilla newspaper reports, from the door where vehicles enter the Daikiri Motel to the interior, several people believed to be local workers have been observed in dismay at what happened.

Remember that on May 25, a couple also died on the site because they allegedly inhaled carbon monoxide while having fun in one of the cabins with the vehicle on.

With this case, four people have already died in strange circumstances in Daikiri, an establishment that had already been sealed in May 2020 for having violated the forty decreed by the first peak of covid-19 in Barranquilla.

At around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday June 19, a man entered the Intersuites hotel, located Carrera 43 with Calle 79 in the Ciudad Jardín de Barranquilla neighborhood, a man in the company of two women who decided to stay in one of the rooms of the enclosure.

According to the authorities’ report, at 1:30 a.m., the two women who entered with the subject chose to leave the hotel and at that time the receptionist of the establishment noticed that both had remained inside. of a vehicle and remained there for a long time.

After that, one of the women returned to the hotel establishment and apparently went up to the room to look for a cell phone that she had left behind and 20 minutes later went downstairs to completely leave the premises with her other companion.

Five hours later, one of the local workers, surprised that the two women had not returned to the room and that the time they were supposed to stay had already elapsed, went up to check on the situation where the man was and when ‘he opened the door he found the host’s lifeless body lying on the bed.

Immediately afterwards, the Sijín de Barranquilla was present at this location in the north of the district and carried out an inspection of the body to proceed with its transport to the Institute of Forensic Medicine and establish the causes of death.
