Tragedy in Veracruz: a girl died and another is seriously ill by mistakenly eating poisoned bread for a dog

Two little brothers were poisoned while eating bread while playing in their garden, located in the city of San Fernando, in the municipality of Soteapan, Veracruz.

After realizing that they were unconscious, their relatives asked for help to be able to take them to the Tonalapa Community Hospital but unfortunately thelittle Adriana “N”, 5, arrived without vital signs, while Jacobo “N”, 7, is torn between life and death reason why he was referred to the regional hospital “Dr. Valentin Gómez Farías ”from Coatzacoalcos.

Mrs. Hermila GH announced that she had left her home on a trip for about half an hour to receive a resource with the school committee, where she is treasurer, when his relatives contacted one of his companions to inform him of what had happened.

For their part, the ministerial police took note of the facts to clarify how it was that the minors were consuming the poisoned food.

Relatives of the miners told health officials that a neighbor had previously tried to poison their dog, which is why they assume the bread was for the animal.

“I say it was a human being, who bakes bread with poison? I haven’t seen him, only God has seen him and is a witness to everything that happens to me. He knows who has me. took my daughter, and if the poisoned bread had been thrown away by the dog ”.

The misfortune occurred in the municipality of Soteapan, located in the mountainous area of ​​southern Veracruz, a region of high marginality and difficult access, thus complicating the transfer of victims to specialized hospitals in Coatzacoalcos and / or Minatitlán.

Brothers Adriana and Jacobo were playing in the yard with their 11-year-old sister, who didn’t notice the moment the two minors ingested the poisoned food.

Hermila Gutiérrez, mother of three children, had gone to her children’s school because she is part of the school committee, and 30 minutes after leaving her house, neighbors came to pick her up to inform her that two of her children had seizures by ingesting poison.

“I don’t know why they poison animals and cause misfortune to children and take their lives, and that’s why people must understand that they cannot leave poisons for animals because there are innocent children“, says the mother.

“I recommend to the people of the city do not throw poison in the yard no matter how angry they are with an animal because they affect innocent people“He added.

Gutiérrez still remains in Coatzacoalcos awaiting assistance, as he has no resources for his daughter’s funeral costs, nor for Jacobo’s hospital maintenance.

So far, no municipal DIF from Soteapan or Coatzacoalcos has contacted Hermila Gutiérrez to offer her any help.
