A couple staying at a hotel near the Champlain Towers South condominium recorded a video showing debris and water falling from the roof of the building’s underground parking lot minutes before it collapsed.

Adriana Sarmiento and Roberto Castillero They recorded the footage in the early morning hours of June 24. One of the videos, taken after they both heard a loud roar, show how waterfalls and concrete rubble.

The couple also observed how the residents of the building walked to their balconies, baffled by the noise.

Sarmiento said that she and her partner went out on the street, trying to signal to residents to evacuate the condo, but they couldn’t figure it out.

They barely remember the flashes of what happened next. “Dust, then glass, rock, and then I started running for my life.”says Castillero, according to CNN.

“Where are the people on the balcony?” “, he wondered. “I didn’t realize the balcony wasn’t there”added.

Death toll rose to 18 after six bodies were found under rubble

Six other bodies were discovered between Tuesday evening and Wednesday afternoon in the rubble of the collapsed building in Florida.the authorities said.

“We have now recovered four more casualties. The death toll is 16. Twelve notifications from close relatives have been completed, meaning that four families are still waiting to hear.Miami County Mayor said.Dade, Daniella Levine Cava, during a press conference.

He added that the staff of what has become a huge rescue operation were doing “Everything humanly possible, and anything else, to overcome this tragedy, and we are doing it together.”
