Colombia completes 28.9 million doses of covid-19 vaccine

This Saturday, the country received 1,000,000 doses of vaccines against covid-19, from the Sinovac laboratory, which were concluded thanks to a bilateral agreement with this pharmaceutical company.

Faced with this batch, Germán Escobar, chief of staff of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, explained that this is the first million, out of two million doses, committed by the laboratory to reach the country this month -this. “They continue to strengthen steps 3 and 4 of the national covid-19 vaccination plan,” Escobar said.

Likewise, he stressed that they will allow “On the one hand, to extend the application capacities of the first doses, and on the other hand, to guarantee the second doses of people who received the first vaccination with this vaccine”.

The official pointed out that with this batch, Colombia is adding 28,956,034 doses of covid-19 vaccine, of which 1.5 million were purchased by the private sector, as well as 2.5 million doses were donated by the United States government.

On the other hand, he recalled that with a cut-off at 11:59 p.m. on July 9, the country completed 21,124,781 applied doses, of which 7,943,511 correspond to second doses and 699,630 to unit doses, that is to say – say Janssen vaccines, they are unique vaccines. -dose.
