“The height of cynicism”: severe criticism of the Buró fair for sharing an image of pizza which was later deleted

During the morning of July 15, the central topic of discussion in the networks was the Buró Fair and not precisely because of the launch of a new edition, but because of a complaint that went viral.

Pablo Tint denounced María Alejandra Silva, co-founder of the Entrepreneurs’ Fair in Bogotá, refused a piece of pizza to one of the workers. Matiz, who was responsible for the logistics of the event, resigned after witnessing the event. He even recounted his experience through a statement posted on his Instagram account:

“(…) Once I left the office, not only could I not understand what had happened, and how a person who lacked nothing could be able to refuse a piece of food to a worker, that it would not even cost him too dear! or he would run out! At that point, I decided to make the decision (sic) to present my resignation to him, ”he said.

In statements made to W Radio, Silva said that The man contradicted himself in his versions and what really happened was that she did not allow Matiz to give his slice of pizza to the collaborator due to “biosecurity issues”. However, beyond what the woman mentioned, the subject was already a trend on Twitter and a large part of the opinions expressed by Internet users were in a way critical of her and the event in general. In fact Maria Alejandra Silva, Pizza Yes office have been a trend on this platform.

Recently, the Buró fair on his Instagram posted a photo for apparently calm tensions and invite more people to visit the entrepreneurs event located in the modern gymnasium, north of the Colombian capital. The photo shows a pig holding a piece of pizza, the central food of the controversy.

“The perfect plan: come to BURO, walk, shop and eat in our delicious restaurants”, appears in the caption in the message. Immediately afterwards, several negative reactions were posted on Twitter, stating that “they make fun of their faces” and “I’m going to think whoever handles Buró’s communications hates the owner and the fair”.

When the photo was posted on Instagram, dozens of negative comments immediately rained against the event itself and against María Alejandra Silva. After that, there was no other statement other than what she said on the radio.

“Listening to the story of Buró and the piece of pizza, I remembered Jean Valjean and the loaves of bread from Les Misérables.” Actor Andrés Parra, for his part, said that “The bad guys, even if they dress in the office, the bad guys stay”.

It should be mentioned that Buró is an entrepreneurs fair that started operating in 2013 thanks to the idea of ​​María Alejandra Silva and Martha Soto, respectively daughter and mother.
