Nelson Alarcón, spokesperson for Fecode, is one of the members of the unemployment committee that has sparked the most controversy throughout the days of protests. Since the video in which he made known his electoral aspirations, the criticism against him has not ceased.

“It’s one of the tactics. Here we must strengthen the movement. It’s long term, it’s reaching 2022 and going much further, defeating the Democratic Center, defeating the far right and coming to power in 2022 ″, he said, in the recording which went viral on the networks.

In view of the recorded statements that went viral, Alarcón denounced that he was under threat and held President Iván Duque responsible for what could happen to him. Similarly, since June 21, the trade unionist had left the country because of the multiplication of messages against him.

“I hold the President of the Republic, Iván Duque, responsible for any situation that could happen to me, after his statements, the threats against my life intensify. Defending democracy and the rule of social law is my crime ”, said the trade unionist, labeling the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), the world federation of international education unions and Fecode.

This Sunday, through a letter published by the newspaper El Tiempo, we learned that Alarcón would return to the country on Monday July 26, after more than a month of exile to continue his work.

“Despite my exile, threats continue to arrive, but I have made the decision and the determination to return to my country”, declared the trade unionist, adding: “I will return tomorrow afternoon to continue my work of the executive committee of the Fecode, of the National Unemployment Committee, of the different spaces. I believe that the fight must be given from there “, said the trade unionist.

Likewise, Alarcón stressed that he continued to receive threats and for this reason, he informed the authorities to implement a security plan in his favor.

“We hope that the national government and President Iván Duque can provide us with the necessary security as threats, persecution and stigma continue,” added.

It should be noted that last month the National Protection Unit said on Blu Radio that on the instructions of President Duque himself, the security of Alarcón and all members of the National Unemployment Committee had satisfactory standards and that in the case of the spokesperson for Fecode it was very strong.

Similarly, the representative of Fecode shared this Sunday afternoon a trill in which he evokes his return to the country of Latin America.

“” You can tear man from his country, but you cannot tear the country from the heart of man. “And even less if he is from Boyacá, far by force I have reinforced the maxim that the leader is due to his bases, and that the risk does not end far, I come back with more desire to change than never “, he reads in the message.
