In the specific case of Bolivia, IDEA members said that after Evo Morales resigned, the new authorities “They are reversing the narrative, accusing the independent media, persecuting those who prevented the aforementioned incident from undermining the democratic viability of Bolivia, and now the former presidents who ensured this transition are being prosecuted.”

“It is not necessary to stress that, in his case, under the leadership of the current Argentine ruler, the hybrid and legal warfare conceived by the aforementioned undemocratic far left in the Americas takes on its full significance,” they said. added,

Finally, they launched an “imperative” appeal for justice, “so that they do not forget that the fate of democratic freedoms ultimately rests in their hands”.
