He was killed in an air disaster and went into hiding for 45 years

The Indian Sajid Thungal, 70, who he was believed to have died in an air disaster decades ago it was actually hidden from his family for 45 years because it was considered a failure, reports the portal LadBible.

Sajid left his home in Kottayam, India, in 1974 to work in organizing events for Indian singers and dancers in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, reports RT.

Two years later, while traveling to town with a group of artists to Madras, his Indian Airlines flight, with 95 people on board it crashed after one of its engines caught fire.

All passengers and crew were left for dead. However, Thungal survived but did not contact his family because He felt guilty to be a failure in life.

He hid for 45 years

In 1982, he moved to Bombay, where he has lived ever since. “I thought I had to make my fortune first. When I ran aground in the Persian Gulf, I decided to take my chances in Bombay and then contact everyone. But it didn’t work here either. . And so 45 years have passed“, he said.

Two years ago he was in terrible condition and was taken to a shelter for homeless. The pastor who runs the facility began searching for his relatives and sent a request to a Kottayam mosque to check if his family was still living in the city, he reports. RT.

The family were surprised the man was alive. Sajid’s father was long dead, but her mother was still alive, already 91 years old.

The man has already contacted his relatives via a video call, but, overcome with emotion, he could barely speak. “I want to go home. If the people here hadn’t taken care of me, I would have died without finding my family,” he confessed.

His brother, Mohammed Kunju, will arrive in Bombay on Wednesday 28th to pick him up and take him home. According to Kunju, the family never forgot Sajid and even went to Abu Dhabi to look for him. “Now that he’s finally coming home, we will not lose sight of him“, He said.
