Woman Born After Rape Obtained Conviction For Her Biological Father | In Great Britain

A woman born after a rape committed on a minor more than 40 years ago succeeded in having the British justice sentenced her biological father to 11 years in prison on Tuesday.

Carvell Bennett, 74, was found guilty by a court in Birmingham, central England, of rape of a 13-year-old girl in the 1970s, for which he was sentenced to 11 years in prison.

According to Judge Martin Hurst, this decision was made possible by the “determination and determination” of the biological daughter born of this crime, who “sought justice in this case for herself and her mother”, and who provided his DNA.

Analysis of his DNA allowed Carvell Bennett to be formally identified as a father, despite the fact that he had always denied it. The man also said he believed he was 16 at the time of the events, a statement which was deemed “ridiculous” by Judge Hurst.
