Guanajuato massacre: contract killers executed eight people in Irapuato

During the last hours of this Saturday, August 7, the streets of Irapuato, Guanajuato, were engulfed in terror when several suspected contract killers slaughter, because they shot a house and they executed eight people.

Early reports said it was around 10:00 p.m. when the gunfire was recorded on the Santa Carolina Street, located in the Santa María neighborhood. For several minutes, the detonations were heard, the neighbors were therefore alerted and called the emergency number. 911 to ask for help.

Officers and paramedics arrived in the area to assist the seven men and one woman which resulted in gunshot wounds. However, first aid was unnecessary, as within minutes none of the victims showed vital signs.

According to witnesses, the armed subjects moved in a vehicle from which they shot at people who lived outside the house. Police cordoned off the area pending the arrival of experts and police. As soon as this information was published, Libia García, Secretary of the Government of Guanajuato took a stand in this regard and condemned these actions, while confirming the coordinated efforts to search and locate those responsible for the armed attack.

“From @gobiernogto we condemn the unfortunate event that happened tonight in the municipality of Irapuato, we have established communication with the Mayor @Ortiz_Irapuato and we are working in coordination with @SeguridadGto and @FGEGUANAJUATO to find those responsible, “he wrote.

Unofficial sources indicated that three armed individuals entered the house where a party was being held, they asked for a person and, when there was no response, one of them pulled out a pistol and pointed it at the assistants. Suddenly the music stopped and the shooting and screaming started.

After recording the attack, authorities deployed a search operation in the vicinity, which attempted to locate a red truck and a motorbike, which was secured, presumably in which the men moved.

According to preliminary information, near the north departmental road gunshots were heard. While on the Belt of the fourth road, the truck of the alleged attackers caused an accident during their escape, so they abandoned it near the North bypass.

So far, no captures have been reported. Nor him Municipal President of Irapuato, Ricardo Ortiz Gutiérrez, the State Attorney General (FGE) and Guanajuato Security Secretariat made a statement regarding these events.

Guanajuato state became the most violent city in 2021. According to the security report of the Secretariat for Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), from January to June, they recorded 1,800 homicides.
