Coronavirus in Mexico on August 8: In the last 24 hours, there have been 7,573 infections and 172 deaths

The Health Secretary (In) has released the most important data on the coronavirus outbreak in Mexico. Through a daily technical statement, he indicated that This Sunday, August 8, 172 deaths and 7,573 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the country.

With these numbers accumulate 2,971,817 infections and 244,420 deaths caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus on a national level. In addition to this, 475,319 suspected cases, 5,330,849 negative, 139,361 estimated assets and 8,777,985 people studied since the start of the health contingency.

Based on the demographics of the outbreak, confirmed cases show predominance among men, with 50.1%. Meanwhile, the overall median age is 42.

By place of residence, the Mexico (815 833), State of Mexico (304,441), New Lion (150 836), Guanajuato (141 640), Jalisco (113,193), Puebla (94 191), Tabasco (91 749), Sonora (91,700), Veracruz (85 690) and Queretaro (75,756) are the states with the highest number of accumulated infections, with 66% of the total.

For people who have exhibited symptoms of coronavirus in the past 14 days, Mexico City also ranks first, with 35,010 active cases, followed by the State of Mexico, with 12,690; Nuevo León, with 8,923, Jalisco, with 6,858; Veracruz, with 5,205; Tabasco, with 4,275; San Luis Potosí, with 4,228; Guerrero, with 3,840; and Quintana Roo, with 3,468.

On the other hand, it is estimated that there is 3,172,544 contagions of disease in Mexico. In addition, there are 12,530 suspicious deaths. They also counted 2,326,466 cured patients.

Regarding the distribution by sex and age of deaths due to COVID-19, a predominance of 62% among men. The average age of death from the coronavirus is 64.

Vaccination against COVID-19 in Mexico
