The boyfriend of a lost mountaineer found the remains of her body in the Pyrenees

The remains of Esther Dingley, a 37-year-old British hiker in the Pyrenees, were found by her boyfriend, Dan Colegate, another hiker, near where the woman’s skull was discovered about two weeks ago.

The grim discovery was made in the midst of a search carried out by Spanish and French authorities and emergency services in an attempt to find the woman’s body and her personal belongings.

Esther embarked on a solo excursion in November of last year through the Pyrenees and since then we haven’t heard from her again.. In this quest, Colegate has been at the forefront, being an experienced hiker, as has his partner Dingley.

“Yesterday, on the afternoon of August 9, Esther Dingley’s body and team were found together in the Pyrenees, near where a bone was found two weeks ago. According to this information, a team of forensic scientists and mountain rescuers went to the site of the discovery to catalog and recover the remains of the woman.

However, the area is difficult to access, so a helicopter and other extra effort may be required to retrieve the Dingley’s body.

The first breakthrough regarding Esther’s disappearance was made just two weeks ago, when a spanish hiker found a skull in the Port de la Glère area.

The skull was taken to the lab for analysis and it was quickly confirmed that the DNA belonged to the missing Briton, but pathologists are still testing the bone fragment to try to establish the cause of death.

Esther Dingley, who was an experienced hiker, He last communicated with his partner from the summit of Pic De Safeguard around 4 p.m. on November 22.

Colegate, who was staying 100 miles away on a French farmhouse, sounded the alarm several days later when she did not show up at the appointed time.

The couple were on an open motorhome tour of Europe and Dingley was on the last hike of a month-long solo expedition when he disappeared.

The couple met in 2003 when they were both students at the University of Oxford and then moved to Durham, UK.

In 2014, After the Colegate nearly died in an operation, they decided to change their lives by running their own business and embarking on a European motorhome tour that included plenty of hiking and biking tours.

During their travels, they adopted a pregnant dog in Spain who gave birth to five puppies who joined them in their adventure.

Dan Colegate has written books about his travels, while Ms Dingley has posted a blog detailing his exploits.

He never stopped looking for his partner, especially after how disconcerting it was that the first searches did not yield any results. Since April of this year, he has been traveling the trails and mountains of the Pyrenees in the hope of finding clues that will tell him what has become of his partner.

Colgate’s insistence prompted authorities to resume the search. Although the hypotheses of a possible abduction have been considered, the discovery first of the skull and now of the body has ruled out this idea.

According to local media, a possible murder is the latest explanation put forward by the authorities, pointing out that the woman suffered an accident in the middle of her last excursion in November.
