In February 2019, tragedy destroyed a family of On payment. A couple and their 6 and 9 year old daughters were traveling by car on the road to Brazil and a terrible accident caused the death of the marriage. The girls survived and Consuelo, the youngest, the traumas left serious consequences until today; can’t walk or talk.

After more than two years, treatment appears to be a possibility for “Coni” to improve his quality of life and to walk again; and fills the family with hope. This is only done in Thailand and to pay, his grandmother launched a solidarity campaign and the good news is that they have just managed to collect 100% of funds to cover the processing.

So far, the causes of the accident which proved fatal to Augusto Eiras and Maria Carolina Sáez, parents of Amparo and Coni. Both, at the time, were transferred in serious condition to Concordia Hospital, where the younger of the sisters was admitted to intensive therapy several days.

Since then, several operations and treatments have taken place in the Sister María Ludovica de La Plata Children’s Hospital, then in the Fleni by Escobar, where he remained until February 2020.

Since then, the girls have been left in charge of their grandparents and uncles, who are responsible for raising and taking care of their health. Although she was released, Coni has quadriparesis (muscle weakness in all four limbs), so he cannot walk, and his speech and sight are compromised.

After exhausting the treatment options available in the country to improve their quality of life, the family began to investigate and found an opportunity abroad. “We are looking for a regenerative medicine treatment. We first inquired about California (United States), in Spain, and then we come to Thailand“, He said TN.com.ar Silvia Coronel, Cuneo’s grandmother.

This is a procedure performed with mother cells at the Bike Biotechnology clinic, Bangkok. It consists of eight injections supplemented by different therapies over a period of 23 days. “What encouraged us to look into this fight is that we found a person from here, from Buenos Aires, who did and the result is successful. This is what encouraged us the most because it is a palpable testimony ”, explained the woman.

The cost of the procedure reached 35 thousand dollars and when they found out, family, friends and acquaintances offered to collaborate. “The truth is that the campaign started a few days ago, it was widely publicized by friends and by people from places where the girls had their social activity, school, club. The response has been overwhelming“said Coronel.

Currently, Coni carries out rehabilitation from Monday to Thursday in the house with specialized staff, on Friday an institute in the capital of Buenos Aires goes where he attends sessions with a speech therapist to exercise language recovery and also performs a visual stimulation.

“This year, the Montesori school started via Zoom. He has a lot of activity, ”said the grandmother. “She does not speak but is very connected, this is what encourages us too, because you deserve to have another quality of life. WE we do not expect a miracle, but have some improvement, which can recover the language, “he added.

According to the grandparents, this kind of treatment is only carried out in this clinic in Thailand. “We are moved by the protests affection, for people who spread, who call us. Even many people from abroad contacted each other, Canada, Spain, Italy, Brazil. We don’t know how he got there, ”she expressed enthusiastically. “Do six days is crazy love. The family is already in contact with the clinic, from where they have already received the forms with the requirements and the possibility to book an appointment for Cuneo.
