Caroline Ribera, daughter of Añez, said that the mother’s suicide attempt “It has been a request for help for all that she is suffering ”.

According to Ribera, Áñez is concerned about inquiries against the girl for donations she received while in charge of the Social Management Unit, when the former interim president was in power.

“He is harassed, persecuted, threatened and what affected him a lot is that they want to do something to me,” said Ribera, after leaving Miraflores prison.

For this reason, Ribera proposed to go to prison instead of Áñez. “I give my freedom for the freedom of my mother, it is she who must be at home. I want to be imprisoned here, but my mother to be free so that she is well, ”he said.

For its part, Norka Cuéllar, one of Áñez’s lawyers, He asked on behalf of the family that the former president can freely defend herself and that he is under house arrest.
