a young pastor of a Christian church tried to imitate the biblical feat of Jesus and asked to be buried alive, to resuscitate on the third day. However, the maneuver went awry and when they went to dig it up, they found him dead.

The unusual situation occurred in Zambia, South of Africa. The protagonist of the news was the pastor James Sakara, of 22 years old and member of Church of Sion.

In order to give a sample of his faith to Christ, he summoned his congregation to help him bury himself alive: the idea was to be resurrected on the third day, as the Bible tells us. However, the devotees turned their backs on him.

For this reason, Sakara had to turn to three people who did not belong to the congregation in order to be able to accomplish her mission: helped him dig a shallow grave, tied his hands and buried him alive. But what was meant to be a show of faith ended in tragedy.

As published by the portal News BeezerThree days after the burial, parishioners approached the tomb to see if it could be resuscitated. After a few moments of speculation, church members in Zion decided to dig him up and they found the lifeless body religious.

In the midst of despair, Pastor Sakara’s devotees tried to revive him through “Spiritual exercises”, but they failed to undo his death. The autopsy determined that the pastor died of suffocation for the earth.

Following the incident, authorities in the African country launched a search for the three men who helped Sakara advance his tragic idea: one was arrested and two others are still at large.
