Raúl Castañeda, a Catalan businessman, has gone viral for leaving a mega tip of around 4000 euros to waiters at a restaurant in Marbella, a gesture he made in response to criticism the place had received from a Twitter user who complained about the expensive table service they were charging him for.

Castañeda became aware of the complaint filed on social media, in which a person posted the bill after going through the restaurant. This customer had consumed a dinner of 4,098 euros, of which 372 corresponded to table service.

The complaint caused so much noise in the networks that it reached the ears of Castañeda, who decided to bring together six more people, to book the same table at the restaurant, number 17, and to have dinner with them on the 22nd. August.

When paying the bill, he asked them to include in the bill a tip equal to the total bill of the annoying customer, i.e. to pay a tip of 4,098 euros, the total bill for this table was therefore 8,179 euros.

In addition, according to the EFE agency, the businessman traveled from Barcelona to Malaga expressly to “Have this detail with the waiters”, since he wanted his tip to be shared among all the restaurant employees.
