Woman Sentenced to 31 Years in Prison for having planned, with her lover, the crime of her husband, the Greek Ambassador to Brazil, Kyariakos Amiridis. The lover received a 22 year sentence for the crimen, which performed in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and considered “a bestial act”.
Françoise de Souza Oliveira was put through a three-day trial in which 18 witnesses testified and in which the judge in his sentence called him “bestial act” because of the way it went and because it went on the holiday season.
Kyriakos Amiridis, Aged 59, he was Greek Ambassador to Brasilia, a post he held at the start of 2016. The marriage with De Souza, originally from Brazil, began in 2001 and they had a daughter, who at the time of the crime had had 10 years. In December 2016, during a family trip to Rio de Janeiro, the body of the diplomat was found burned in the back seat of a car. Examinations determined that he was murdered in an apartment he owned following a violent stroke. His body was later placed in a vehicle and thrown under a bridge.
According to the investigation, the woman had met her lover – Sergio Gomes Moreira Filho– six months before the crime. They both planned in detail how to achieve it. The goal was financial: they planned to keep the victim’s money.
The judge found sufficient evidence to confirm the hypotheses and sentenced the woman to 31 years in prison, while her lover received 22.
