The government of Buenos Aires will relaunch the city of Buenos Aires at the international level with a strategy that aims revive the visitor economy and the investments in competitive sectors, consolidate the leadership of Buenos Aires in the so-called “city ​​diplomacy“And position it with a future program focused on global well-being and climate change.

The head of government of Buenos Aires, Horacio Rodriguez Larreta, will give an interview to Robert Wood, Senior Economist for Latin America at The Economist Intelligence Unit, where he will analyze the competitive advantages of Buenos Aires.

The city resumes its international tours

At the same time, a tour of the United States is planned for September, during which Rodríguez Larreta, in his capacity as mayor and vice-president of the C40, will meet with the Climate change office led by John Kerry, the authorities of the world Bank and of Inter-American Development Bank, with an emphasis on The city’s agenda on climate change.

The tour, they anticipated, will also be an opportunity to discuss the City’s participation in COP26, and to start preparing for the C40 Mayors Summit, to be held in 2022 in the city of Buenos Aires. The meeting will bring together more than 30 mayors from the main capitals of the world, to agree on common objectives in terms of sustainable urban planning.

Besides, Rodríguez Larreta will attend COP26, the world’s largest annual climate change conference, to be held from October 30 to November 12 in Glasgow, Scotland. There, he will also chair the meeting of the C40 Steering Committee, in his capacity as vice-chair.

In December, the head of government will make an official tour of Europe, where he plans to meet José Luis Martínez Almeida, Mayor of Madrid; Anne Hidalgo, mayor of Paris; Michael Müller, Mayor of Berlin, and Virginia Raggi, Mayor of Rome.
