“He allegedly caused a traffic accident on the Sucromiles road, overturning a group of cyclists, leaving five injured”, Valle Police Department Commander Colonel Nelson Dabey Parrado said.

According to reports, the sportsmen were practicing physical activity in the area when they were surprised by the driver who was under the influence of alcohol.

“The state of intoxication is verified by medical opinion, hits the back of the group of cyclists”, specified the colonel.

Meanwhile, El Cerrito firefighters attended the scene to deal with the situation and, with an ambulance, helped transport the affected cyclists, who had multiple lacerations. They were transferred to San Rafael Hospital in El Cerrito to receive appropriate care.

As for the person responsible, the authorities indicated that he was captured and that he will subsequently be prosecuted for the offense of culpable injuries in a road accident. The vehicle was a red Mazda, model 1989, which was immobilized.

Likewise, the 44-year-old man was left at the disposal of the general prosecutor’s office during the investigation into the facts.

Guzmán Duque cited a nursing report which indicated that the man attempted to flee the Perfect Body Clinic on two occasions in the company of his relatives, his lawyer and his guard. This is why he argued that it is necessary that Vives be under an insurance measure while all inquiries are being carried out in this regard since he could escape his responsibility at any time.
