The government has decided to postpone once again the cancellation of the quarantine for returning Argentines, who will still have to isolate themselves for a few days after returning from abroad, even if they have traveled for reasons. professional. The extension was announced by posting in the Official Bulletin of Administrative decision 927/2021.

The text, signed by the outgoing chief of staff, Santiago Cafeiero, and the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, established that the exception announced a few weeks ago, which will also benefit foreigners residing in the national territory, it will only apply “from October 2, 2021”.

Among the recitals, the authorities explained that “In the current situation, the conditions for the implementation” of this measure still need to be ensured., for which they argued that it was “proper and timely to postpone the date from which it” will take effect.

In this way, the implementation of the Administrative decision n ° 846/21, with which the government had established that “Argentinian men and women and residents of the national territory who return from business and / or commercial trips” were “exempted and exempted from the quarantine provided” by the decree that was imposed on the time to control the spread of new coronavirus variants.

That way the only thing we were going to ask them was have the complete vaccination schedule and present a PCR test carried out within 72 hours of travel, an antigen test in Ezeiza and two other PCR tests at 5 and 10 days calculated from the first test, the results of which must be negative.

However, so far this advantage has not been put into practice.. In dialogue with Infobae, the director of migration, Florence carignano, had explained that the initiative was part of “the small flexibilities that the epidemiological situation at the national level allows us with the reduction of cases and the increase in the number of vaccinated with both the first and the second dose” .

“In this particular case, we are talking about Argentines who have left for professional reasons or foreigners who come to do work here, whenever a company asks for it. If this happens and they receive our authorization, they will be exempt from quarantine. Yes, all checks must be carried out: negative PCR 72 hours before travel and antigens in Ezeiza. And they are asked to carry out new PCRs on the fifth and seventh day of return, the date of the first sample that was originally taken is taken, ”he expressed.

However, shortly after the publication of the regulations, another provision signed by the Chief of Staff was known, Santiago Cafeiero, and the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, in which they suspended its implementation for the first time and established that it be “applicable from September 20, 2021”. Now the benefit has been extended again, this time until October 2.

In another part of the interview, Carignano talked about how the special flights that the government has put in place so that more Argentines who are abroad can return. As he explained at the time, “several such flights have arrived from different cities in Europe and also some from the United States. We calculate this at the end of the month that will be regularized. We cleared about 7 special flights from Europe in September, which is where there were the most cancellations or rescheduling. From the United States, flights arrive full. It is now 1700 daily passengers and since September 6 the quota has been increased to 2300 ″.
