The Seventh Division reported that in this instance, in addition to the five soldiers killed, three others were wounded. The wounded soldiers are transferred by plane to a medical center located in Montería, the capital of Cordoba.

“We will report to the competent authorities this flagrant violation of human rights, and violation of the norms that govern international humanitarian law, ”the national army said in a statement.

Likewise, the command sent a message of condolence to the families and friends of the slain soldiers and wished the speedy recovery of the personnel injured in the midst of the criminal action.
