The news was revealed by TMZ, who confirmed the trip. It will be next October 12 and will last about 15 minutesAlthough he did not disclose whether the inclusion of the protagonist of the 1960s television series was an invitation from the company or if he paid for the trip himself.

The protagonist of the first and mythical Star Trek will be accompanied by four other travelers. One of them will be Chris Boshuizen, former NASA engineer and co-founder of the space observation company Planet Labs, the other will be Glen de Vries, co-founder of the Medidata Solutions research platform.

The other two names will be known in the coming days, Blue Origin said. The launch of the “New Shepard” rocket will be from the company’s launch site in West Texas.
