Like the capybaras of Nordelta, wild boars have invaded the streets of Rome

In Nordelta, in the province of Buenos Aires, the inhabitants undergo the invasion of capybaras in the very exclusive closed district. A similar, but dirtier and more dangerous invasion is suffered by the citizens of Rome, the capital of Italy. There they were forced to live with tens of thousands of wild boars who approached the urban area attracted by the Garbage accumulation zoned. This problem as well as the dysfunction of public transport will be at the center of the next municipal elections which are celebrated on Sunday 3 and Monday 4 October.

This movement of animals towards the urban center has generated unthinkable situations, mammals roam the parks, they cross the avenues in groups and the drivers are already used to sharing the traffic with them. A wild boar went further and decided to go for a swim in a house pool and its owner said it was difficult to remove it since these specimens weigh an average of 150 kilograms.

Elio Rosatti, secretary general of the NGO Cittadinanzattiva, explained that “wild boars are already part of urban life, due to the lack of a suitable structure to store the waste. The municipality should draw up a plan to build a new landfill, but the waste ends up being sent to other areas. ” The value of this work is estimated at 17 million euros.

The main candidates in the municipal elections presented their proposals to solve the problem of dumps and thus reduce the flow of wild boars in the city. Mayor Virginia Raggi recalled that it was up to the regions and the state to control the situation.

The italian capital It has 2.8 million inhabitants and generates a large amount of waste which, for the moment, turns into mountains in different parts of the city. It also causes proliferation of rats and cockroaches that come through the garbage from restaurants.
