Russia, death toll and infections

Besieged by the Delta variant, Russia yesterday recorded a new record of coronavirus deaths and also the highest number of infections in 75 days, amid the concern of political and health authorities who, however, insist that they will not impose containment and seek to increase vaccination rates. The national operational center for the fight against the coronavirus reported 24,522 new positive for Covid-19, its highest number since July 19, and 887 deaths, the highest number since the start of the pandemic. This represents an increase of 0.33% from the previous day.
