Prince Andrew, son of Queen Elizabeth II of England, has obtained access to a confidential document that their lawyers said could put an end to the alleged sexual abuse case of which he was accused by the American Virginia Giuffre when she was a minor.

Prince Andrew’s legal team has been granted permission to access, according to Forbes magazine a sealed deal between Giuffre and the late friend of Queen Elizabeth’s son, financier Jeffrey Epstein, the origin of the scandal surrounding the member of the British royalty.

Lawyers for the prince believe, according to Forbes, the documents could give Andrew immunity in this lawsuit.

New York judge Loretta Preska, who is in charge of the case, has agreed to allow Andrés of England’s legal team to receive a copy of that agreement, with the consent of Epstein’s heirs.

Giuffre’s lawyer, David Boies, agreed that Elizabeth II’s son had the right to examine these sealed documents, although he considers this to be “irrelevant” to the current trial.

The Florida-state deal between Epstein and Giuffre in 2009 ended one of dozens of civil lawsuits filed against the mogul by women who allege he sexually assaulted them while they were were minor and were resolved privately with economic deals that were not publicly disclosed.

Harvard University law professor Alan Dershowitz, a friend of Epstein’s who Giuffre also accused of sexual abuse, told Forbes in a statement last month that The deal led to the dropping of the assault case against him and added that “the same reasons” could apply to the proceedings against Prince Andrew.

These new details of the case came to light days after it was made public that Queen Elizabeth II is paying “millions of pounds” of her own fortune for her son’s legal defense in this case.

The Duke of York expanded his legal team last September after hiring attorney Melissa Lerner, who joined Andrew Brettler in his defense of the aforementioned sexual abuse complaint filed by American Giuffre in a New York court last August. .

According to sources from the royal household cited by the British “Telegraph”, the lawyer’s bill will skyrocket by “millions” of pounds, in a legal process that is expected to take months or years and could end in an economic settlement that will further increase the final cost.

A New York court has given Prince Andrew until October 29 to respond to Giuffre’s complaint, who alleges that at 17 she was forced to have sex with the prince, something he was invited to do by Jeffrey Epstein, the late tycoon accused of running a child sex trafficking ring linked to leading figures in business and politics, and his right-hand man, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Epstein committed suicide in August 2019 in a New York cell soon after his arrest, while Maxwell remains in another Big Apple prison, accused of helping the businessman recruit minors for his sex trafficking activities.
