An inflatable castle exploded and a four-year-old girl is dead

What appeared to be a typical summer afternoon on Norfolk Beach in England ends up becoming a tragic scenario. An inflatable castle, which was a few meters from the sea, exploded and threw a baby who was playing indoors in the air. The victim, four years old, died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The incident occurred this Sunday at 11 am. In just four minutes, several groups of ambulances and police approached the place to help the little girl. Upon arrival, paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

But attempts to save her did not work. The girl was taken to James Paget Hospital, a little over three kilometers away, but died on the same day.

Kara Longshaw, witness to the tragedy, told the newspaper
The Sun was the "most horrible thing" he saw in his life. "The girl who was in the castle was catapulted six meters into the air," he said.

Another woman who was on the beach, identified as Karen Sell, commented that the inflatable installation looked like a stepping stone and that she was scared when she heard "the din". Immediately, he understood that something bad had happened. "We were all shocked."

Researchers are working to determine the causes of the explosion. The owner of the playground, Curt Johnson, said that it was because of the heat. Although it was not there at the time of the incident.
