Manny Machado of the Orioles: Leave early as a precautionary measure

Machado went on to hit a home homerun and walked in both of his plate appearances during Sunday's 6-5 win over the Rangers before leaving the game after four innings.

Machado was spotted on the circle on the bridge in the bottom of the fourth and was recalled to the dugout, with Jace Peterson. The premature exit from a two-point match fueled speculation that the Orioles would have officially agreed to exchange Machado against another team, but this was apparently not the case. Instead, Machado was removed for precautionary reasons, according to Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun, with the Orioles reluctant to further expose him to the rainy conditions that hit Camden Yards. Machado will therefore remain an Orioles member as he prepares for his fourth appearance at the All-Star Game, but expect him to play different colors before the end of the month.
