Why they chose Scotland to send missions in space

The first space station on European soil will be built in Scotland, announced the British Space Agency.

According to reports, in the next decade, the first rockets could begin to take off from the peninsula of A Mhoine, in the Scottish county of Sutherland. The station will be built by a consortium including the US aerospace company Lockheed Martin.

The place was chosen in the north of Scotland because from there the satellites can be placed directly on the correct orbit. The UK government is also badyzing other locations for horizontal rocket launch. This technique involves taking high altitude rockets over the sea aboard an airplane before taking off in space, explained the DPA agency.

London expects its own space station to boost the economy by 3,800 million pounds (4,300 million euros / $ 5,040 million) over the next ten years . The European Space Agency ESA has a space station in Korou, French Guiana.
