The Ministry of Health of the province, through the zone of epidemiology, reports an epidemic of trichinosis in the city of Cbads, in the department of Unión
. There were 45 cases of people with this disease, who were treated at the municipal hospital and clinics in this city. Six people had to be hospitalized – four of them were fired – but only for observation and no cases are serious.
It should be noted that, among the cases, there were seven people from the city of Pueblo Italiano, four from Rio Fourth and two from Cintra. All reported consuming purchased products or the city of Cbads.
Relevant research and monitoring is carried out by the Zoonoses Program of the Ministry of Health; the Directorate General of Supervision and Control of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of the Province; SENASA; Bromatology and Ministry of Health of the Municipality.
The source of the infection comes from the consumption of sausages, sausages and fresh pork from an unauthorized slaughter. It should be noted that establishments were identified from where the animals originated without official health inspection, which is why SENASA is continuing the investigation.

Clinical manifestations are highly variable and can occur as an inadvertent infection or have symptoms that usually start with fever, severe muscle aches, headache and pain and swelling around the eyes. Gastrointestinal signs such as diarrhea and vomiting may also appear.
In the presence of any of these symptoms, it is important not to self-care and to go to a health center.

Check the label or manufacturing label on all purchased pork byproducts. The following should be clearly read: product brand; responsible company; national rating of the establishment; date of production and expiry of the product; maintenance conditions in terms of ambient temperatures; and label with product composition
