As part of "World Viral Hepatitis Day", the Ministry of Health will conduct rapid and laboratory tests, without medical order, from Monday, July 30 to Friday, August 3 in Ushuaia, Tolhuin and Rio Grande. Rapid tests for the detection of hepatitis C can be performed on Monday 30, from 2 pm to 6 pm, in health centers No. 2 (Kuanip 957, Barrio Felipe Varela), No. 3 (Gov. Valdez y Náufragos) del Sarmiento – Latin American District) and No. 8 (Río Claro and De la Estancia – Río Pipo district) of the city of Ushuaia; and on Monday, 30 and Tuesday 31, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, at the Infectious Diseases Clinic of the Rio Grande Regional Hospital.
Conventional tests for viral hepatitis will be from Monday 30 to Friday 03, from 07:00 to 09:00, at Laboratories of the two regional hospitals and the Tolhuin Welfare Center
Recall that the World Health Organization (WHO) Health has established July 28 as the "World Day Against Viral Hepatitis", in commemoration of the birth of Baruch Blumberg, discoverer of the hepatitis B virus.
Viral hepatitis are diseases caused by a group of viruses that lodge in the liver and affect it temporarily or chronically. It is important to perform the test at least once in life because in most cases it does not show any symptoms. The diagnosis is essential because there is a treatment for hepatitis B and C.
