The Ministry of Health of the Nation will launch a campaign to provide children, free of charge and mandatory, with an additional dose of the triple viral vaccine, which protects against measles, rubella and mumps.
will take place from October 1 to November 30 throughout the country. All children aged one year, up to 4 years, 11 months and 29 days must be vaccinated. In other words, children under 5 years old. In this way, the fringe between the first and the second dose, provided for in the national immunization schedule, will be included in the campaign.
The vaccination monitoring campaign against Measles and conbad rubella is a routine every four years. It was carried out in 2010, also in 2014, for what was already planned for 2018.
In fact, the measure was decided in December 2017 by Resolution 2334-E / 2017 published in the Official Bulletin, "with the aim of consolidating the elimination of measles, rubella, CRS and mumps control in the Argentine Republic". The publication also states that "public and private health services, as well as various institutions, must guarantee vaccination" free of charge and in a mandatory manner.
This means that the launch of the campaign is not a consequence of the ] two new cases confirmed Friday in the city and in the province by adding three cases up to now in 2018. They are a man of 5 months and a girl of 6 months who had fever, rashes and conjunctivitis
"To be considered protected, you must have two doses of measles vaccine, such as triple or double viral", says Clarín Angela Gentile, President of the National Commission for the Elimination of measles, rubella and conbad rubella in Argentina. Therefore, the specialist clarifies who should have it:
* Children under 5 will receive their second dose with this national campaign, from October 1st to November 30th.
* Children over 5 years old should already have both doses of vaccine. The second was applied when they received it compulsorily at the entrance of the school. Our national diet has one dose per year of life and a second dose between 5 and 6 years, at the beginning of primary treatment.
* Adults should also have both doses of double or triple viral viral vaccine. In the country, vaccination campaigns for adults were conducted
* People born before 1965 do not need to be vaccinated as they are considered immune.
Measles is an acute viral disease, transmissible and highly contagious. The main symptoms are fever, conjunctivitis, cough and generalized rashes. It is pbaded from one person to the other. And most importantly, it is preventable by vaccination.
