The first week of the training camp is in the books for coach Matt Nagy and the new Chicago Bears. After an offseason full of excitement and praise, the Bears have maintained positive momentum in the practice and have given fans plenty of reasons to feel optimistic before the first week of the preseason.
The Bears will face the Ravens in the 2018 Hall of Fame match will be held on August 2nd. This will be the first opportunity for fans to get acquainted with Nagy's style of play and, perhaps, the first look at some of the team's brilliant new toys. However, do not be too optimistic for the latter. It is highly unlikely that Chicago risks injuring one of its key players in what amounts to an extra pre-season game. Instead, the Hall of Fame game will give guys fighting for the places an extra week of film for the coaching staff and the front office.
Regardless of the number of rehearsals received on Thursday night, the game represents an opportunity to build on several positive points across the camp right up here.
Swaggy Nagy
What a breath of fresh air, the Nagy coach has been to the Bears and the city of Chicago. He has brought personality back to a franchise that has had its fair share of boring coaches in recent years. Whether it's his juvenile approach to the craft or his natural demeanor, it's obvious that players buy despite the fact that they do not play a single match yet. The Bears have the right guy at the head coach.
Mitch Trubisky is a leader
Trubisky has a lot to prove before he can be crowned quarterback franchise in the NFL, but he's already established himself as the Bears leader in just his second season. In fact, he brought many of the same qualities to the quarter position that Nagy brought as a head coach. Guys believe in Trubisky's ethic and work character. He really cares to do what it takes to win games and he behaves properly. Being the face of one of the world's largest sports franchises is not too big for him, and it's a great sign.
Allen Robinson is in good health
It's not often that a player arrives A torn ACL will sign a three-year $ 42 million agency agreement free, but that's what the Bears paid Robinson for the purpose of infusing life into the body of the lifeless receivers of the team. But in the days, weeks and months following the signing of the contract, questions about his health and leaving for the training camp persisted. Then came last Friday when Robinson was medically allowed for training. He looks lively and plays games. Even though it may not be in good health yet, it is almost there. Phew
Robinson is not the only playmaker of the Bears
So, it's great that Robinson is in good health. But even though it was not, the first week of training camp proved that the Chicago attack is light years away from last season. Taylor Gabriel has been in contact with Trubisky on the big games on the sideline, Kevin White is in the first round, Trey Burton has highlighted his athletic abilities and the second choice Anthony Miller looks like a future Pro Bowler. The Bears finally seem to have an attack that has enough weapons to force a defensive coordinator to earn his pay.
