In the year of productive reconversion, the company Petrominera Chubut Sociedad del Estado participated in the fifth exhibition of industrial, commercial and technological innovation in Comodoro Rivadavia, announcing the new program of production and marketing of pellets for heating.
During the fair, Petrominera's president, Jorge Avila, hailed the development of this production line called "Pellets PetroChubut", which is part of renewable energy and is presented as a new alternative for families without access. gas. natural ".
Wood pellets are an economical fuel of great caloric capacity, used in stoves, heaters and boilers, which, unlike wood, produces less emissions of pollutants.
The provincial plan includes large-scale manufacturing in the city of Esquel and the use of the PetroChubut service station network as a distribution and supply point in the most remote communities.
In this sense, Avila highlighted the leading role played by the state, which, through the network of stations, "reaches the interior of the province, supplying fuel, pellets and, soon, bottles of LPG ".
For Petrominera, "it's not just hydrocarbons, our goal is to find new resources, new energy for the well-being of the Chubut people, and this company that is given to generate heat is something we need to save He stressed, emphasizing that "only in Comodoro Rivadavia, the national oil capital, we still have about 20 thousand families without gas".
"That's what you need to do: think about how we help the Chubut people, put aside the pettiness of some and continue to work for the good of the people," said the oil official.
RENEWABLE ENERGY
The PetroChubut Pellets program, created to take advantage of forest resources as a source of energy, began this year with a pilot project to install pellet stoves at eight provincial indoor service stations for the winter season. An excellent result has been obtained.
In collaboration with the GIRSU of Esquel City and the provincial forestry secretariat, progress is being made in the second stage to achieve large-scale pellet production. He has also been advised by INTI to perfect the product.
It is a forest biombad, treated and dried, which is a renewable, economical, safe and efficient source of energy.
The pellets are manufactured in the form of small cylinders, based on the compression of chips, sawdust and chips, from remnants of pruning, cleaning of forests and residues from the wood industry . It is not necessary to cut trees.
Among the environmental benefits, it should also be noted that it is a 100% natural product, which allows efficient and clean combustion and contributes to the reduction of contamination produced by combustion firewood.
Similarly, because of its origin, it helps to reduce the volume of urban waste and prevent forest fires.
The stand of Petrominera Chubut was one of the most convincing. The presentation of the machines involved in the pellet manufacturing process has captivated the public's attention. The looks were installed in the big shredder and pelletizer that were placed instead.
The pellet stoves were also exposed, coming from different suppliers and designs, all from the domestic industry, as well as the material exhibited in its various processes.
PetroChubut employees in Epuyén, Lago Blanco and Gastre shared their experience on the basis of the pilot project and the change of the heating system in their workplaces.
The public followed with interest the explanations it gave about the treatment of the raw material of the mountain range, which is turned into chips, ground to form sawdust, dried to reduce the percentage of moisture and to achieve a greater calorific value.
Finally, the sawdust is granulated in a matrix with many perforations which, by mechanical action, the press and the compress, transforming it into pellets placed in the stove.
