With this merger, they seek to adapt to the new needs of their customers. Aspires to position itself as a company specializing in end-to-end solutions
The largest advertising group in the world, WPP, is continuing its restructuring process. After the merger of the advertising agency Young & Rubicam and the digital agency VML in September, he decided to join J. Walter Thompson (JWT) and Wunderman, an idea he has been speculating on for several months.
The resulting company will be named Wunderman Thompson, an agency with more than 20,000 employees in 90 markets that will be fully operational by early 2019. Mel Edwards, who until now has been Wunderman's CEO, will be ahead. For her part, Tamara Ingram, CEO of JWT, will be president of Wunderman Thomson.
Wunderman Thompson aspires to position itself as an end-to-end solution provider that will provide creative, data, retail, strategy and technology-focused services to its customers.
In the future, JWT and Wunderman customers will benefit from the "expertise" of both agencies. Thompson Wunderman, headquartered in London and New York, also aims to strengthen their technology partnerships with companies such as Adobe, Amazon, Google, IBM, Microsoft, Salesforce and SAP.
With the recently launched new merger of JWT and Wuderman, Mark Read, CEO of WPP, aims to simplify the structures of the agencies that host the company he runs.
"Customers want more simplicity from the agencies, and this development is geared to adapting our business to the new needs of our customers," says Read.
"To get truly transformative results, our customers now need inspiration that is rooted in data-driven knowledge." Wunderman Thompson delivers exactly what our customers need today: brilliant creativity , data-driven knowledge and sophisticated technological expertise, and can no longer be honored to lead this new organization and its employees, "said Mel Edwards.
