The pressure of the international community towards Nicolás Maduro for the handover of power has increased considerably since the proclamation of Juan Guaidó as interim president of Venezuela.
Spain has not yet taken a position on this. However, President Pedro Sanchez said a few hours ago that if Maduro did not call for free elections, he would recognize Mr. Guaidó as President of the Republic.
After a mobilization in favor of Nicolás Maduro, Diosdado Cabello, historical referent of Chavez, rejected the statements of the Spanish president.
"Go to hell because the Venezuelans do not send anyone to us," said Maduro number 2.
Spain as well as Germany, France and Britain would lobby for a new electoral process to be conducted in Venezuela.
