County police Flagler (northeast of Florida) stopped this weekend a man accused of stabbing his wife thirty times in 1996, who survived, and kidnap his 5 year old daughter, the local media reported today.

Michale Eugene Moore, 46, was arrested after three hours of confrontation with police in the city of Palm Coast, after being arrested to check that he was driving a stolen car in Virginia with a false registration.

Moore had appeared in the TV show "America's most wanted", one of the top rated in the US, is accused of stabbing his wife 33 times and kidnapping his youngest daughter.

It seems, Moore was reluctant to get out of the car and ignored the officers' orders, who finally managed to convince him to surrender.

The Flagler sheriff's office noted that Moore had received a warrant for a serious badault in Virginia, where he had stolen the car.

"This incident could have had a very different outcome, it's an individual who has a history of extreme violence … and we'll never know what crimes we managed to avoid" with his arrest, said Rick Staly, County Sheriff.
