The lawsuit against mother of a baby whose lifeless body was found on a swing with a layer filled with larvae started on Wednesday, accused of the death of the minor.
Court documents say that Cheyanne Harris, age 21, was declared innocent of the murder charges and endanger a child to such a degree that he died of it. The lawsuit was transferred to The Mars, in Plymouth County, Chickasaw County, due to the publicity of the case.
The prosecution began its arguments on Wednesday.
The paramedics who were called to the Harris apartment in Alta Vista in August 2017 were found Sterling Koehn, 4 months old, died on the swing in a dark and hot room. The autopsy showed that he had died malnutrition and for a E. coli infection caused by the fact that she stayed for about two weeks with the infested layer.
The baby's father, Zachary Koehn, has already been sentenced to life imprisonment.
