The American president, Donald Trump, announced Tuesday that he would meet North Korean leader, Kim Jong-Un, February 27 and 28 in Vietnam continue negotiations on nuclear disarmament in North Korea.

"As part of our bold diplomacy, we continue our historic effort for peace on the Korean Peninsula", said in his speech on the state of the union before the congress, formalizing the date and venue of the second meeting with Kim after the historic summit held by the two leaders in June in Singapore.

Trump is praised for the progress made, according to him, since the step taken with the Pyongyang regime last year. The president said that, if he had not been elected president, the United States would now be "in a great war with North Korea."

"Our hostages have returned home, the nuclear tests have stopped and there has been no missile launch before 15 months"Trump said.

"There is still a lot of work to be done, but my relationship with Kim Jong Un is good," he added.

Negotiations with the Taliban

Among foreign policy issues, Trump also spoke of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan and ongoing negotiations with the Taliban.

"I have also accelerated our negotiations to reach a political agreement in Afghanistan. Our troops fought with unparalleled courage. Thanks to their courage, we can now look for a political solution to this long and bloody conflict, "said the president.

President said talks with Taliban advance "constructively", expressing a cautious hope of negotiating the end of the longest war waged by the United States.

"My Government conducts constructive talks with a number of Afghan groups, including the Taliban" it could involve "a political solution to this long and bloody conflict"said the president.

"Through the negotiations, we can reduce the presence of our troops and focus on the fight against terrorism"he said.

He added that "We do not know whether we will reach an agreement or not, but we know that after two decades of war, it's time to try to achieve peace."
