The Venezuelan Constituent Party took a first step towards calling for legislative elections – Telam

The president of the National Constituent Assembly of Venezuela (ANC), the leader Chavis Diosdado Cabello, appointed Tuesday a commission to organize a consultation of the population on the possible call for early parliamentary elections , an option that rejects the antichamber.

The National Assembly (parliament) is the only one of the powers of the Venezuelan state to be in the hands of the anti-Chavez, since its imposition in the elections of 2015.

Amidst the current institutional crisis, the acting president proclaimed by the National Assembly, the anti-Cuban Juan Guaidó, and the foreign governments who recognized him, including Argentina asked President Nicolás Maduro to call early presidential elections.

Maduro repeatedly refused and proposed only the possibility of renewing the National Assembly, a "bourgeois legislature" as defined last Saturday.
