The European Union calls for elections and Uruguay leaves "neutrality"

The Governments of Uruguay and Mexico, in accordance with their neutral position with regard to Venezuela, decided to hold an international conference with representatives of the main countries and international organizations that shared this position. in front of this situation.

By calling for "free, transparent and credible presidential elections in accordance with the Venezuelan Constitution", the meeting of the International Contact Group (ICG) was completed with the participation of 14 countries.

According to the final declaration, the elections must include "all the necessary guarantees", based on the readings of the Uruguayan Foreign Minister Rodolfo Nin Novoa and the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the Union. European, Federica Mogherini.
