Former Central Bank Director Appointed Harvard Researcher

L & # 39; economist Demian Reidel, former Director of BCRA, has been appointed Principal Investigator at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government of the John F. Kennedy School of Government Harvard University

Reidel will conduct a research program and teach students at Harvard Kennedy School. He is the only Argentine researcher of the team.

The center is managed by Larry Summers, former US Treasury Secretary and former director of the US National Economic Council, dependent on the White House.

Some researchers who are or were part of this program are Camilla Cavendish, member of the British House of Lords and advisor to former Prime Minister David Cameron; Tim MbadadChairman of US Commissions and Futures Trading Commission; Antonio Weiss, Global Head of Investment Banking at Lazard Brothers and Member of the Council on Foreign Relations; and Jean-Pierre Landau, vice-president of the Central Bank of France, among others.

Reidel served as second vice president and board member of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic from 2015 to 2018. During his tenure, he was also a representative of the G20 Central Bank.

Previously, he was a co-founder and portfolio manager at QFR, a macroeconomic hedge fund based in New York. He was a senior member of the Emerging Markets research team at Goldman Sachs in New York and London, and held a similar position at JP Morgan.

In addition, he was a professor at Di Tella University, where he taught badet valuation as part of the master's degree program in finance. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University in the fields of international economics and finance; a master's degree in financial mathematics from the University of Chicago and a bachelor's degree in physics from the Balseiro Institute.
