The Attorney General of Colima has confirmed the discovery of 69 bodies in 49 clandestine graves

The Attorney General of Colima State reported the discovery of 49 clandestine tombs with 69 bodies, located in two properties of the community of Santa Rosa, in the Municipality of Tecomán.

Due to the conditions in which the property was located, it was necessary to execute a search warrant, through which were located the first. 19 bodies in 11 pits. Subsequently, the second search was carried out in an adjacent property, where they found 50 bodies in 38 pits.

The research, which initiated February 3, joined the intelligence work carried out by the Office of the Prosecutor in search of missing persons. As reported, The arrest of some people involved in the crimes gave the first indications on the location of the bodies.

According to the authorities, the first bodies have already been made available to the experts start with an identification work and notify family members.

"The procedure involves taking samples from the bodies to obtain genetic profiles; the DNA will be confronted with the database that is in the prosecutor's office, so that "in case of chance, it is handed over to relatives who appear before the institution", said the authorities in a statement.
