Argentina has signed an addendum to the gas supply contract with Bolivia until 2026, which establishes a different contractual price and quantity schedule, with increased seasonality of deliveries for the period 2019 -2020. Thus, in addition to saving $ 460 million over two years, it will allow a greater utility margin in the volumes of gas generated at Vaca Muerta.

This contractual endorsement will allow Argentina to receive less gas during the months of reduced consumption and to avoid the payment of penalties accepted under the previous administration in the current contract.

"Currently, we have surpluses of exportable gas in the summer, but we still need to import in the winter," said Gustavo Lopetegui, secretary of the Government of Energy.

Regarding the renegotiation with YPFB and IEASA, Lopetegui added that "the contract quantities have been adapted to Argentina's needs during the summer and we have established differential prices based on market signals, especially in winter, "he explained.

The agreement was signed on Wednesday by the companies YPFB and IEASA, in collaboration with Lopetegui, and with the presence of the Bolivian Minister of Hydrocarbons, Luis Alberto Sánchez, at the YPFB Executive House, in Santa Cruz de la Cruz. Sierra, Bolivia.

The fourth rider to the initial contract between IEASA and YPFB, which dates from October 2006 and is valid until 2026.

In addition, the head of the Ministry of Energy has proposed to Minister Sánchez a Pampa 3 aircraft built at FADEA, due to the possibility of over-execution of the contract. It will be delivered if gas supply is exceeded by 45 million cubic meters per day during the five months of the strongest demand, ie from May to September.

The gas supply contract between the two countries will represent approximately $ 1,200 million this year.
